Meet The Good Samaritan Staff

Pastor Don Lorfing
Senior Pastor

Favorite Bible Verse: Matthew 22:37-40 "Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Best of the rest: A native of Laurel, Montana, Pastor Don loves spending time with his wife and two children doing action-packed activities. He is also an avid outdoorsman and basketball player.

A Message from the Pastor: Pastor Don realizes it is truly the people of Good Samaritan who live their lives "giving, sharing, loving, caring" for others. "This is a group willing to take risks for the sake of God’s kingdom and their church family." He also counts among his favorite quotes is one from the movie "Braveheart" when William Wallace says, "all men die, but not all men truly live."

"The gospel writer John wrote, 'Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.’ John 20:30-31

"I hope more and more people can enter into the full life of love, forgiveness, and purpose that God has in store for them. By simply opening up their lives to Jesus and growing in a relationship with Him, there is more and greater life than we can even imagine."

Pastor Collette Paul
Associate Pastor

Favorite Bible verse: "For surely I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart, I will I will let you find me, says the Lord." Jeremiah 29:11-14a

Best of the rest: Pr. Collette is most recently from Seattle, Washington. She loves spending time playing and walking with her dog Angel, reading, watching videos, painting, and visiting with family and friends. She loves to travel and wants to go back to Greece, visit England and Scotland, and someday the Holy Lands.

A Message from Pastor Collette: Pastor Collette believes strongly in the power of relationships. It is our relationships with Christ, our families & friends, and other Christians that gives us strength for service to forward God’s Kingdom.

"I learned the hard way that being healthy in ALL aspects of life is vital in any area of ministry. It is important for all of us to take time to be healthy in order to have shalom - wholeness - in our lives. Relationships form the foundation for our living a life of shalom; this is the life that God gifted us through Christ. I am very excited to have the opportunity to build on that foundation with everyone here at Good Samaritan Lutheran Church."

In the Letter to the Ephesians, we hear how God through Christ has a plan for our health and salvation, that we are adopted as children of God, and that we are given the greatest gift of all - salvation by grace through faith. Living a healthy life - a life of shalom - is part of that gift. "For once you were darkness, but now in the Lord you are light. Live as children of light - for the fruit of the light is found in all that is good and right and true." Ephesians 5:8-9

"It is my prayer that everyone can live a healthy, whole life in the Light of Christ. May the peace that passes all understanding be with you all!"
