Moving Day - October 25! We're moving to our new church
campus on Saturday, October 25 from our West Flamingo/Torrey
Pines location to our Durango/Windmill location (southeast
corner)! Please sign up to be part of one of our moving teams.
We're hosting Confirmation, Sandwich Ministry and our annual
Halloween Cake and Potluck on October 26 so we need to be
ready to go!
October 26 marks our 10th annual Cake Auction & Potluck!
After a busy weekend of settling into our new home, let's
celebrate! The Cake Auction and Potluck begins at 4 p.m. so
sign up now!
Trunk or Treat! Friday, October 31 from 5:30 to 8:30
p.m. Join us for candy, games, and plenty of fun at our NEW
location at the corner of Windmill and Durango!
Good Samaritan Preschool to Open in Late 2008
The New Hope Christian Academy is delighted to announce it
is now accepting phone calls about its new preschool! Located
on the campus of the currently-under-construction Good Samaritan
Lutheran Church at the corner of Windmill & Gagnier (one
block east of Durango on Windmill), the New
Hope Christian Academy will feature A Beka curriculum
and accept children from 2 years through preschool. Hours
of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through

Small Group Opportunities: There are dozens of small
groups at Good Samaritan; visit our information page for more
detailed information. They include growth/discipleship groups
such as Bible and book studies, service/task ministries like
our global mission team, Family Promise, Silver Ridge nursing
home visitation and worship opportunities, and fellowship
fun Ladies Night Out, motorcycle riding, men's breakfast,
cards and bunko.
Ministry Spotlights:
Adult Choir Practice is held every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Anyone who loves to sing and would like to be in the choir,
please join us Wednesday evenings.
Global Mission - Our Global Mission team is active
year-round. Thanks to our members' generosity, we raised $1380
for the orphans in Kenya and $350 to purchase a much-needed
water tank. A total of 19 children have been "adopted"
by Good Samaritan members. We are pleased to sell "Fair
Trade" coffee, tea and chocolate on the last Sunday of
every month!
Children & Youth News:
Nursery School: It's never too early to start learning
about the love of God and His Son! Our nursery school offers
a special curriculum especially for our toddlers.
Sunday School: All students ages 4 years through 5th
grade are welcome and encouraged to bring a friend! Sunday
School meets at the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services every week.
"Sandwich Ministry" is held on the last Sunday of
every month, helping to provide 200 to 300 sack lunches that
are distributed to the homeless. Additional service projects
such as stuffing backpacks .
Hot Church for Middle and High School youth is back!
We meet at 9:30 on Sunday mornings in the Fellowship Hall.
Join us for Hot Church or any of our social activities (such
as trips to Circus Circus and Magic Mountain) and service
projects (distributing sandwiches to the homeless, organizing
a holiday food drive, building homes in Mexico). For more

Monday Night Bible Study for High School Students

Join us at the church Monday nights for fellowship, fun and

Good Samaritan Lutheran Church celebrated its 30th anniversary
in 2007. The church's mission to welcome all, transform lives,
share gifts and serve all people in the name of Jesus. Good
Samaritan offers a variety of worship styles, including traditional
and blended services, a wide range of small groups, and active
children and youth groups. Among its service projects are
the Mexico Mission Trip, hosting Family Promise, organizing
a monthly sandwich ministry for the homeless,creating layettes
for new mothers, quilting, visiting nursing homes, contributing
to global missions and assisting Lutheran Social Services
of Nevada and many other organizations.
