Mexico Mission 2006
Good Samaritan Lutheran Church
In June 2006 approximately 40 youth and adults made our
annual mission trip to Tijuana, Mexico. This was the first year that we went all on our own – no church partners
from Las Vegas, although we did meet up at the campground with our good friends
from New Hope Lutheran Church and had the pleasure of worshiping together
before they went back to Las Vegas. If there was one word to describe the trip
it would be – HOT!!.We went in June
because the weather was supposed to be cooler at that time of year, but God had
a surprise for us.It was the most heat
and humidity that Tijuana had Tijuana had experienced in a long time. But through all of that we still managed to complete two houses for two local families. Hopefully 2007 will bring a return to cooler temperatures.

Here are some comments from our group members:
Dan Reese- this was my third year on the Mexico Mission trip. It is always a lot of work but it is very rewarding to see the faces of the local family when we give them their keys. I love the worship and music every night. After a hard day of labor it is great to relax and get closer to God.
